How does Popify calculate monthly unique visitors?
Monthly unique visitors are the number of different people who visit pages of your store that run the Popify snippet in the last 30 days. Popify bills by monthly unique visitors, not impressions. A visitor counts once, however many sessions they start, pages they open or popups they see in that period.
What is a monthly unique visitor?
A monthly unique visitor, sometimes called a "monthly unique", is anyone who visits one of your website pages with the Popify snippet in the last 30 days. A visitor may start several sessions and view many pages, but Popify still counts that person as one visitor, as long as they keep the same browser cookies, device and browser.
How Popify counts a unique visitor
Once per 30 days. Each visitor is counted one time in a 30-day period, no matter how many times they return.
Impressions do not count. A single visitor who views 100 notifications is still counted as one visitor on your plan.
Cookies, device and browser matter. If a visitor deletes their browser cookies, or visits on a different device or browser, they are counted as a new visitor.
Visitors count even when no popup shows. Popify keeps track of actions on your store even when popups are not shown, so your social proof data is always up to date and ready to display.
How to calculate unique visitors: an example
The numbers below are a made-up example store, not real data. They show how visits, page views and popup views reduce to one monthly unique visitor count.

In this example, 13 visits and more than 105 popup views add up to 7 monthly unique visitors, because repeat visits and popup views from the same browser are not counted again.
Where to see your usage
You can see your monthly unique visitor usage at the top of your Popify dashboard. Check it regularly to know how close your store is to your plan's visitor limit.
What if I need more visitors?
If your store needs more monthly unique visitors, move to a larger plan. Paid plans start at 5,000 monthly unique visitors and go up from there, and larger plans are available on request.
