Popup Analytics & Insights

Understanding how your popups perform is essential for optimizing visitor engagement and driving conversions. Popify provides comprehensive analytics to help you track and measure the effectiveness of your popup campaigns.

Popify tracks three metrics for your popups: views (how often a popup was shown), clicks and hovers. The dashboard overview shows totals for your store, and the Performance column on the My Popups page shows the same metrics for each popup, so you can compare which popups and placements get the most engagement.

Overview dashboard

When you open your Popify dashboard, you see these totals:

  • Popup Views: the total number of times your popups were shown to visitors

  • Active Popups: the number of popups currently running on your store

  • Total Clicks: how many times visitors clicked your popups

  • Total Hovers: how many times visitors hovered over your popups

All metrics start at 0 when you create your account and update as visitors interact with your popups.

See analytics for each popup

  1. Go to My Popups in the left sidebar.

  2. Find the popup you want to check.

  3. Read its Views, Clicks and Hovers in the Performance column.

  • Popup preview: a thumbnail of the popup

  • Title: the notification ID or the name you gave it

  • Type: the kind of activity the popup shows, such as Recent Orders or Add to Cart

  • Placement: the pages it appears on and its position, such as All Pages, Bottom Left

  • Performance: views, clicks and hovers

  • Actions: Edit, Duplicate or Delete, and the activation status

How to read the numbers

  • Many views, few clicks: the popup is seen often, but its message, link or design may need work.

  • Many hovers, few clicks: visitors notice the popup but don't act on it. Try a clearer message or offer.

Tips

  • Give popups time. Wait at least a few days before judging a popup, especially on a store with low traffic.

  • Test placements. Duplicate a popup, give the copy a different placement, and compare the two.

  • Check the status. Make sure popups show as "Activated" in the Actions column. Inactive popups record no metrics.

  • Allow for seasons. Results can change with traffic, sales events and seasonal shopping.
